Yesterday was Bob Dylan’s 70th birthday and U2 wished him a Happy Birthday from the spaceship-looking stage of their 360 tour. During the intro of Love Rescue Me which the band penned with the help of Dylan himself, Bono paused to remember the rock icon on his special day. You can check out the footage below:

In the midst of their gargantuan world devouring 360 Tour, U2 is making time for all kinds of stops along the way. After meeting with Mexican President Felipe Calderon and showing up at the Billboard Awards to pick up their award for highest grossing touring act of all time, Bono and the Edge are dropping by American Idol to promote their side project, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. Though the band won’t be playing, they’ll be accompanied by cast from the musical who will be performing.
Spider-Man Revisited
May 18, 2011
After three weeks of retooling, Spider-Man is back! The New York Times reported that the musical is back with a refined storyline, a new song from Bono and the Edge called A Freak Like Me and less of the changes that were made under the direction of Julie Taymor. The updated production went off (mostly) without a hitch and now it appears that the show will se the light of day after a series of extraordinary mishaps nearly tanked the show.
Bono Meets with Mexican President
May 17, 2011
Continuing his role as rock’s elder statesman, Bono met with Mexican President Felipe Calderon during the Mexican leg of U2′s epic 360 world tour. The two were reported to discuss poverty, violence, drugs and global warming. Bono also celebrated his 51st birthday in Mexico, drinking champagne with fans and reporters outside his hotel.
The Edge Buys Off California
May 16, 2011
Since 2006, The Edge has been fighting the state of California for permission to build his estate on the Sweetwater Mesa property he bought in the mountains on the coast of Santa Monica above Malibu. In a million dollar deal, the Santa Monica Mountain Conservancy agreed to withdraw their opposition to the project, allowing The Edge to move forward with his plans. Many conservation groups including the California Coastal Commission still oppose the project, citing negative ecological impact. The Edge seems unperturbed. The new construction would open up sections of the Coastal Slope Trail which are currently inaccessible.
